Unlock the Potential of the CLSD Grant for Your District
In September 2024, the $149 million Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant was awarded to 22 states and Washington, D.C. This grant aims to boost literacy outcomes from birth through grade 12, with a focus on evidence-based interventions. If your district is in Alaska, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, or Virginia, you could be eligible for funding.
What does this mean for school districts?
Awarded states must subgrant 95% of funds to Local Education Agencies (LEAs). This means your district has the opportunity to secure funding for implementing high-quality instructional materials and targeted literacy interventions. Priority will be given to districts serving low-income and high-need students.
